Remade as Thunder Afloat/Footage Reused in Below The Sea

1. Just saw this on TCM. The story line of a U.S. decoy sailing ship hunting WW 1 German U-boats, radioing their position to a U.S. destroyer squadron, then being sunk by enemy fire, is repeated in Thunder Afloat [1939], with the plot altered to suit Wallace Beery's salty personality.

2. Just saw Below The Sea [1933] on TCM. The story starts with clips taken directly from Suicide Fleet, specifically the surface battle between a sailing ship and a WW 1 German U-boat. Well, why blow up TWO sail boats when one will do?

2. Ahh, yes. But in this one there are 3 U-boats or is it one with 3 different numbers? I don't think so. Sort of fun in a very creaky way.
