What are you talking about?

I can only imagine you're talking about the singing of Sweet Adeline at the beginning of the movie. It is noted in the 'trivia' part on Monkey Business's IMDB page:

"Early in the movie, the Marx Brothers--playing stowaways concealed in barrels--harmonize unseen while performing the popular song 'Sweet Adeline.' This marks the only time that Harpo's voice, a clear baritone, was ever heard on film."

of course i'm talking about the song in the beginning . it's the only thing in this film that people disscuss all the time that involes voices. you can't take what imbd says for granted. first of all, there are clips all over the internet of harpo talking, so this doesn't mark the only time. secondly, noone knows for sure. anyone could of have edited the triva to say that, like on wikipedia. i was simply stating that i hear 4 vocies. many people say there is only 3.

I hear four voices also. According to the subtitles on the Silver Screen Collection DVD, Zeppo sings the lead, and only Groucho and Chico back him up. It also says Groucho sings the last 'Sweet Adeline' line. But I'm not buying it. How the hell would they know who sings what. I agree that Zeppo sings the lead parts, but I disagree that there's only three voices. The DVD subtitles credit the voices as follows:
(Zeppo)-In all my dreams-
(Chico, Groucho))- in all my dreams-
(Zeppo)-Your fair face beams-
(Chico, Groucho)-Your fair face beams-
(Together)-You're the idol of my heart, Sweet Adeline
(Groucho)-My Adeline-

I'm still in the car that says Harpo is singing, despite what the subtitles say.

I think it's three voices until "You're the idol of my heart, Sweet Adeline," and then Harpo joins in. The harmony seems to get noticeably fuller-sounding at that point.

We'll never know for sure, though; and perhaps that's just as well.
