Location!
The ship board scenes are so wonderful, I wonder if they were filmed on a real ocean liner? Anyone know?

shareMy guess is Paramount built a replica of a ship's deck on a soundstage. It would be difficult to film on an actual cruise ship because of all the other passengers, which, for the most part, you don't see that many. Also, wouldn't the hallways be much narrower on an actual cruise ship?
shareI also noticed that some of the windows on the ship were double-hung windows - the kind with a top and bottom part that when new, you can raise the lower part and lower the upper part, but, at least in apartments, the top part of the window has been painted shut.
