The football game.

That was brilliant. I laughed myself sick.

I know! That may have been my favorite part; it was certainly the funniest.

That was RUGBY (very popular in France !!!), not Football.

Much is made of the fact that Chaplin "borrowed" the assembly line scene from "A nous la liberte" in "Modern Times". But is it possible he also thought of this scene, the rugby (not football) game at the opera, when he planned his waiting scene, also in "Modern Times", when the roast duck turns into a football (American, that is), which he tries to take back from the four players on the dance floor? Am I the only one to have thought of that? Oh yeah, great film, like all early Clair talkies.
