The Pan Across the Cityscape

In the very beginning of the movie, when it pans from one window, across the Paris skyline, to the skylight, where the person is looking in on the celebration, that part really struck a peculiar cord with me. I thought that it was a pretty inventive and somewhat whimsical opening to this movie.

I liked that part alot, so I figured I might start a post about it. Any opinions?

I liked it too. Rene Clair is always so inventive, and it seems like he had a particular fondness for roofs.
