The movie sounds great, a serial killer being hunted by other criminals (are they other killers?). Also, so the killer mark his next victims with a letter 'M' like the poster shows?

No, the killer doesn't mark his victims with the letter "M", it's something else but I don't want to spoil it. And yes, this movie is as good as if sounds, better even. It's simply a masterpiece! I honestly didn't think I would like it as much as I did. Definitely check it out whenever you get the chance.

"M" is definitely worth watching. It was made during the best years of German cinema and Peter Lorre gives one of the best performances in movie history. It is well acted right down to the smallest roles, direction and writing are fantastic and the story unbelievably gripping. The suspense and action builds and builds until the very end. It is really one of the most remarkable films I've ever seen and stands the test of time.

Yes. It is great because of Photography, acting and editing. Here in film every face which appears on the screen has a different manner and style and represented his or her community. We can see the Germany in 30s and impact of depression.

I don't see it, but if you like it, you like it.

There's an early scene where a balloon floats upwards. It's terrible cinematography and clunky.

The sound is obviously clunky, but I suppose people are giving it a pass because of its age. Not sure why. If you can apply sound, why not smoothly throughout?

Great acting? Not for me. Some pretty standard German yell/talk the way I see it. Certainly not a stylistic sophistication like the future will bring in films like Inglorious Basterds, but ...

Editing? I can't praise a film where the best part was made to be the shortest and most rushed.

Honestly no, the pace is very slow, a lot of the middle is extremely dull, there are some really fantastic moments which are masterfully tense and the cinematography is wonderful but a lot of it drags and the script isn't really that engaging.

It's a good film but some early talkie clunkiness is definitely present.

Yes it is as great as it sounds. He doesn't mark his victims with M. He is a pedophile (implied) and a child killer and he gets marked with an M (for murderer/Mörder) but just watch a movie.

Its a masterpiece and one of the greatest films ever in my book, 10/10.
