Maybe on TCM later this year?

I understand that Turner Classics has a new deal with Universal to air their library which I believe would include the old Paramount films like this one. Let's hope this movie gets a screeening soon. Since Robert Osborne appears to be a big fan of Kay Francis, I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I actually purchased the bootleg of this film a few months ago. It's typical pre-code Kay. Don't set your hopes too high though. It's not another Mandalay.

The film itself is pretty good. I was referring to Francis' performance in Girls vs. Mandalay. Her performance in Mandalay is really something special. Her performance rivaled that of any other actress of the time (maybe any time). Let me rephrase. If nuclear holocaust was eminent and I could grab one Francis film before jumping on the spaceship, it would be Mandalay. If I could grab one Cukor comedy, it wouldn't be Girls. The films, although different genres, are in two different leagues.

Girls About Town is simply a weaker film in the context of Kay Francis performances. Kay Francis delivers an unforgettable performance in Mandalay. The same cannot be said of Girls About Town. Her performance was fine, but hardly her pinnacle role.

I believe this film is, unfortunately, lost (I'd really like to see it too!).

If you would like to see this movie, it has been uploaded in six segments on YouTube. I just found it there and watched it. I have been looking for it for years.

Thanks for posting that information. Good Kay Francis movies are hard to track down. Since "Trouble in Paradise", I've been really anxious to see more movies that included her. Now I've seen a second one and enjoyed it, thanks to you!
