That gown!
I tend to be oblivious to fashion, but I thought the gown that Lili Damita wore for the latter part of the film, with the tilted "bow tie" necklace echoing the slant of the neckline, was wonderful.
I noticed it too. It was beautiful. I find much of the fashion from those days to be over-the-top, even clownish at times; nothing I’d ever wear but that particular dress was different. It stood out for the right reasons. It was understated but lovely and she looked great wearing it.
