Gay Divorcee

The downstairs of the Williams' house in Colorado looks an awful lot like the downstairs of the house they are in at the very beginning of the Gay Divorcee. Do you think it is the same?

reply

Not unusual....remember this was studio Hollywood at its most industrious peak when the average film was made in under 21 days. It wasn't unusual for films to share not only sets and costumes, but also music and stock footage to save production time & costs.

Just watched it and had the very same thought.

Actually, I think the movie we ate both referring to is The Divorcee., also from MGM and which starred Norma Shearer. The Gay Divorcee was the first starring vehicle for Astaire and Rogers and was made by RKO.
