I don't know about a PAL version, but perhaps you can find a DVD player that can play multiple formats?

reply

Could you settle for a VHS copy? I know it has been available in NTSC format and ALL European VCRs can play NTSC nowadays (unless your VCR is over 10 years old maybe). Other than that it looks as though a multi-region DVD player is the only answer.

the european version of the dvd comes also with the spanish version of dracula so dont worry

As far as I know, the only way to get a PAL version of the Spanish Dracula is to purchase the PAL version of the Universal Monsters Legacy Collection box set, which includes all the Dracula, Frankenstein and Wolf Man movies (along with The Mummy, The Phantom Of The Opera, The Creature From The Black Lagoon and The Invisible Man, although these films do not come with their sequels). The stand-alone PAL releases of Dracula (both the version put out in 1999, and the recent release packaged with House of Dracula) DO NOT have the Spanish movie included, in spite of what David Skal says on the commentary. The box set is fairly expensive (although it's cheaper on-line than in the shops), but is definitely a worthwhile purchase.

Get yourself the new Dracula Legacy boxset. The set includes "Dracula", "Spanish Dracula", "Dracula's Daughter", "The Son of Dracula" and "The House of Dracula". Should be avalaible some place.

reply

That boxed set is totally wicked man. I love all those legacy boxes (Frankenstein, Wolfman, Gill man, etc) - it's great to binge on these movies.

reply

Gill man? Do you mean The Creature From the Black Lagoon? LOL

Gill man's actually much less of a mouthful though!

I agree, love these sets. Can't wait for the Bela set coming out later this fall.

reply

Yeah that's exactly what I meant bro.

There's a Val Lewton box set coming too, about time! It's got Bela in only one movie I think (The Body Snatcher).

reply

The box sets are named after the monster common to the films, not the films I think-- so the box set with the Creature films would be the Gill Man legacy collection, or whatever.

That's the way I understand it anyhow, I could be wrong.

Edit: Just found out I WAS wrong, it's called the Creature from the Black Lagoon Legacy Collection. But anyway...

finally got to see this (torrent!)

the legacy box set is 46pounds

add customs charges(unavoidable and amount up to 10 extra pounds per order)..quite a sum considering i've already got all the wolfman, frankenstein, mummy and creature from the black lagoon films i need and want. no redoubling, please.
so..just the spanish dracula in region 2? no updates?

reply

Dracula -The Legacy Collection is about 27 euros (about 30 dollars)in Finland.

reply

The Legacy boxset is now abailable in the Free Record Shop (at least in belgium) at 15 euro. So that's a bargain, especially for 5 films.

reply

Has been released on DVD in Australia (PAL) as a 2-in-1 with Dracula's Daughter.

reply

Hi

The Blue ray has the Spanish version included. (it is region free)
