Hadn't they figured out some issues by now?


The dialogue at times is very difficult to hear. The top of people's heads are cut off. There are some movies from this time that have much better production values. Paramount should have been able to produce a better product by this time - they were a major studio then, weren't they?

I think the print we saw had some of the dialogue muffled because of cuts made by a censor. This also happened in other films like Kay Francis' Dr. Monica in which they redubbed some dialogue involving abortion.

I think that's mostly a question of bad printing. Image ratio was 1,20:1, so shown fullscreen on a 1,33:1 television some of the top and bottom gets lost. Bad printing techniques are also to blame for bad audio on most prints of old movies.

On Amazon I can only find this on VHS.
