Thank you Hannah
Can you tell me the name of the classical piece at the end of the L'agd d'or that the conductor is playing when he leaves the orchestra and walks to the garden
Thanks

The orchestra is playing Isolde's "Liebestod" ("love death") from Wagner's opera Tristan und Isolde. It's one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written, in my opinion!

It is. And the combination of aching beauty and slow-building excitement in the music fits perfectly with Buñuel!

Thanks!

There are also references to the beginning of TRISTAN, large hunks of the Schubert UNFINISHED SYMPHONY, and when the Catholics are around, we hear Mozart's motet AVE VERUM CORPUS.

Nice. That really adds to it. Thanks!
