There are several references to "the Majorcans" throughout the film.
Is this a specific historical reference, or just an absurd addition to confuse the masses?

Those damn troublemaking Majorcans! I thought it was just a random reference, someone to scapegoat picked at random. Hopefully amid the rampant sexual frustrations, fetishism, blasphemy, scatology, and just general onslaught on bourgeois values, the Majorcans weren't too offended!
