Anyone know who did the music?

Noticing the almost total emptiness of this message board I have little hope of getting a reply to this, but here goes: does anyone know who wrote/performed the music on this film? (I have the version included on the Complete Jean Vigo dvd put out by Artificial Eye in the UK.) This has been obsessing me because a) I can't seem to find the information anywhere and b) the music is bloody brilliant. So. Yeah. If any one out there knows anything about this, please let me know!

Well, I figured it out! (Not that anyone is even here, or probably even cares, but *I* was pretty psyched at least.) Apparently the film was originally shown without musical accompaniment. The music on this DVD was performed by the accordionist Marc Perrone, patched together from various pieces written by Maurice Jaubert, who of course wrote the music for all of Vigo's sound films. Anyway, this is the page where I puzzled this out: http://www.dvdclassik.com/Critiques/dvd_vigo.htm

Woohoo! This is ridiculous, but I've been obsessed about this movie for months and have had zero luck in figuring out anything about the music. Hurray for the Interwebs!

Thank you so much!

I do care about this stuff :) A couple of years ago I bought a DVD here in Spain and got really pissed off because it was a version without the score I had heard before. Actually it had no music at all! So thanks again for your help, dude.

Thank you kingfelix. *praise*
I too love the music on the DVD release. Thanks for the info. Also thanks for kick-starting the board discussion. One of my favorite movies and it is good to hear from others.

I proclaim ignorance.
