Stunning
I'm actually not very familiar with the historical background of this film, but all I know is that it was truly unforgettable. I sometimes well up just thinking of the final sequence.

shareI also well up when thinking of the beautiful final sequence...the part where the end credits roll and I can check this off the big list of allegedly 'must-see' classics. Boring, ridiculous ham-fisted acting, lame dialogue that could've been written by an elementary school student..oh, and some pretty still shots of dewy fruit on the vine.
3/10
Wanna see a simplistic story filmed well? Check out Murnau's Sunrise instead.

If you're watching 'Fullscreen' DVDs, you aren't getting the whole picture.
