Uh...does anything actually happen?

I mean all I know is that some flowers start waving, so is there a story, documentary or what?

Yep, an epic tale of love and tractors. One of the dullest silent films ever made. I did have a good chuckle though when the main character danced with joy because everyone was getting tractors.

That was a big deal at that time and for those people. They were friggin' Ukrainian peasants in the 1920s.

Why shouldn't they have been happy to get tractors, to mechanize agriculture and build a modern society with the tools that could produce what was needed to take care of all its people? These people had known hunger and famine for a hundred generations, and now were finally gaining the means to put an end to it forever. It was worth celebrating. The Soviet people in the 1920s and 30s were all about modernizing, mechanizing, industrializing the country and turning peasant Russia into a modern socialist working-class society. The enthusiasm was very much real.

The people, and the people alone, are the motive force in the making of history.
