A beautiful way to close out Lon Chaney's career.

"Why I, I don't know whether to laugh or cry."
"Well, why not do a little of both? You know the old gag. That's all there is to life. A little laughter... a little tear."

That final exchange between Rosie and Echo summed up Lon Chaney's career quite nice and made for a wonderful finale. And although the theme of unrequited love, which had been so prevalent throughout Chaney's career, was still present, for once we had a happy ending.

Lon Chaney, thanks for the memories.

I love that quote! It is one of my faves. It is so true! And I am glad Chaney did The Unholy Three as a talkie. We got to hear how versatile his voice was too! The ending is very bittersweet!

Still can't get over the guy giving Chaney's character a couple of cartons of cigarettes....when the actor was dying of throat cancer.

And it ended like almost every Chaney movie...he didn't get the girl.

Last night, I was lying back looking at the stars and I thought...where the *beep* is my ceiling???

The cigarette gift is a head scratcher, but no one believed cigs caused any harm...I'm sure big tobacco helped with that-the industrial revolution brought the machinery used to mass produce rolled butts...they weren't gonna stop the $$ coming in.In fact,Chaneys cancer was blamed on a piece of artificial snow made from gypsum, not his 3 pack a day habit....CRAZY

It was said.that a piece of the gypsum lodged in his throat and never removed
