Myrna Loy's singing voice

Anybody know if this was dubbed? To me, Myrna's voice didn't go with her looks at all.

Actually, this movie is pretty bad. I don't know if I'll get through it.

Myrna gave up on synching that improbable voice when she blew the "Imp" a kiss.

Yeah, but that doesn't tell us whether it was her voice. It shows that she was singing to a pre-recording - standard operating procedure then and now. Who did the recording - her or some stand-in - we don't know.

I believe this film may have preceded the time when actors sang to a pre-recording by a few years. From what I've read, during the first few years of sound films, and especially at studios like Warners which used the Vitaphone sound on disc system, a voice dub would stand just off camera and the actor and singer would do their very best to sync,

I just saw this film last night, and contrary to Kareneeni's post in this string, found it quite amusing, and a terrific opportunity to see youthful Loretta Young, Myrna Loy and David Manners going though their paces. Young is so incredibly beautiful and charming.
