early talkie - overlapping of stars

seldom shown, little early talkie with an interesting mix of stars that were big in the silents(director Archainbaud and E. Brent) and some folks that will go on to be even BIGGER in the talkies - J Arthur, J McCrae, and of course, character player Ned Sparks. With that monotone, sarcastic voice, he must have jumped for joy when the talkies let viewers hear his voice, which perfectly matched his acting style. Remake of the silent from 1920, same title.

Primarily watched The Silver Horde for Jean Arthur. She gave a decent performance considering her early film career was plighted with limited range, even Arthur admitted she needed to improve. There were sparks between her and Joel McCrea hinting at future success of screen chemistry shown in Adventure in Manhattan (1936) and The More the Merrier (1943).
