Opera singer's voice

Does anyone know who the singer was who "dubbed" for Garbo? Actually it is not a very good "dub" as it doesn't sound a bit like her! Garbo I think would have a lower voice, say mezzo-soprano or contralto, just as when she was speaking. But hey, this was 1930 and sound was in its infancy. This is an observation more than a criticism.
