This film was remade as "Between Two Worlds" (1944). That film had a WWII setting. The snooty lady's husband was with her but the character is not in this film. The employee traveling with Mr Lingley, Tom, is a newspaper reporter in the other film.

I torrented it. Kind of fun, but doesn't exactly fulfill it's potential. The best part and the surprising part was that it shows the skyline of the afterlife.

I remember seeing part of it on TV. The TV guide said it was to start at time x so I turned on the TV shortly before then and found that it was already nearly half way into the movie. Just shows the TV people can't seem to tell time properly.
