Good film kind of Eerie though

I really liked this movie it works very well on an emotional level You really feel for the poor girl and want Sir John to fight tooth and nail for her. He is like a shining light in a very dark world where the whole system seems to be grinding against her.The landscape and atmosphere is kind of spooky the prison scenes and the circus also.

I just thought the girl could have protested a lot more considering she was headed for the gallows!! She didn't want to help herself by telling the truth even though they were going to neck her! Annoying how polite people were back then too. So silly to not say things and let a murderer go free.
