Ferry Captain

Hi all

In the second scene of the movie, on the ferry, Adolphe Menjou's character asks the ferry captain (or so he seems) about Amy Jolly-- I think the captain is played by the great British character actor, Sir C. Aubrey Smith (though with black hair and a beard)... does anyone know if this is in fact the case? This role is not listed onsite here...

Did he speak with an English or German accent? If the former, it could have been C.Aubrey Smith; although I did not think so when I saw the film last night.

Definitely not Smith, who had one of the most distinctive looks and personalities on screen and was nearly 70 when this was made. It's probably Thomas Curran, who was ~50 and played an unnamed character; he played TR in "Citizen Kane" and there is a good resemblance.

C. Aubrey Smith was also very tall and thin! Can't disguise those attributes.
