Single O's Son Spoiler

So Single-0 is about 40-years of age basing that upon the actor who played him.
At the finale of the film he is reunited with his son who was supposed to be a youngster when Single-0 was killed in 1930.
Its now the year 1980,so 50-years have passed.
How come his son looks like an 80-year old man?

No, in all seriousness, it's probably the same logic that made all mothers in the golden age of cinema look like old grandmas when their children are only just coming of age.
