Being a bit of a Hitch obsessive, aiming to own all his available films on DVD, I was pretty pleased when I saw this on the shop shelf. Big mistake. A better way to spend the evening would have been to remove my eyeball and staple it to the nearby wall.
Some old films stand up over time - Metropolis, Nosferatu, The Lodger to name a few. This one stinks. Bad sound, unimaginative direction and characters that are so unsympathetic you're wishing all manner of horrible diseases on them. Surely this was directed by Hithcock's lesser known brother of the same name?
