Blond Injured Woman at beginning

What ever happened to the injured blond woman at the beginning.

i found the plot and relationships a little difficult to follow. this is from a storyline outline:

"Distraught Paul gets drunk and wrecks his car, disfiguring young Dorothy's face in the process. Out of pity, Paul marries Dorothy."

"only one food for the rest of my life? That's easy, cherry-flavored Pez. No question about it."

It happens in most social relationship movies. Sometimes I have to watch same movie twice or more times to grasp the whole thing...........................

In real life, Ted and Barbie would have a perfect marriage, lots of kids, then they both die peacefully at the same time and go to Heaven.

The world economy will crash in 2016, so for now, have fun!

SPOILER

Dorothy, the blonde, shows up at the end when her husband Paul is going to divorce her for Jerry. She pleads with him not to leave her. Jerry feels guilty and tells Paul that she, Jerry, still loves Ted and to stay with Dorothy.

I thought at first Dorothy might have had a concealed gun her purse when she went to Jerri's house to talk to her husband, by the way she was cluthing her purse.
