This is a funtastic movie

Granted, the acting and story line seem stilted to modern viewers, but that's okay with me. MY grandpa was a railroader--an electrician, responsible for keeping signals and telegraph lines working. I am old enough to have been on the cusp of the end of steam trains and regular passenger service and the sad decline in the Fifties/Sixties. There is nothing so exciting as the sound--and smell--of a big steam engine. And I know that railroaders of all kinds were generally fine people, some even as much as Dan Thorn.
