Michael Marks?

Is that bit player Michael Marks as the bald man with the moustache in the diner (at 1:09 on the DVD)? Marks is perhaps best remembered as the father of Little Maria in Frankenstein (1931), who carries his daughter's lifeless body to the burgomeister.

I watched this movie for the first time today.

During the diner scene, I noticed the actor in question and said to myself, "Hey, it's Little Maria's father!" This was before I saw your posting on the message board, so I wasn't influenced by your opinion.

I believe we are right in identifying him as Michael Mark, though IMDB does not include "City Girl" in his filmography.

What a career he had, from the silent days to "Hello, Dolly" with stops along the way for "Frankenstein," "Casablanca," "The Ten Commandments," and dozens of others.

R.I.P, Michael Mark!
