City Girl and Straw Dogs

Some scenes in the film reminded me of Straw Dogs. An outsider comes to a rural place. The wife is sexually threatened and the man has to learn to stand up and defend her, i.e. learn to be a man!

Anyone else agree?

I don't think Straw Dogs is about learning how to be a man as such, but yes, there are definitely a lot of narrative similarities.
