Remake with Madonna failed

Diane Keaton wanted to direct a remake of the film Blaue Engel, aka "The Blue Angel") with Madonna in the lead but the project was canceled. I found it on imbd and on another site, but Alan Parker, while working on Evita said that he already known Madonna because they want to made a remake of The Blue Angel but the project was never achieved. So there's surely some truth in Madonna leading role, but there's confusion in the direction.. Does Somebody know more about it? When it could be made this project? Maybe in '93?

What a thoroughly appalling thought!

What next? - A remake of Citizen Kane by Bono with Justin Timberlake in the lead? (No! - Don't go there!)

Bullet dodged, or should I say, bombshell dodged.

I'm not so sure about this being such a horrible idea. Everyone's hated on Madonna's acting career since Dick Tracy, but no one can deny that she was awesome in Desperately Seeking Susan and Who's That Girl--although I must admit that it can't be that hard playing yourself in a film. Anyways, I think that Madonna playing Lola-Lola in a 90's American remake of The Blue Angel would've been better suited to her persona than Evita and very well could have been well received... who knows?

I agree. I don't think remakes are sacrilegious usually, I think they are just fun to compare/contrast. I would have enjoyed it. But, remake I LOVE LUCY, and that would be wrong! Haha!

Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!
