Could barely understand it!

I don't know if it was just me, or if the quality of the version I watched was bad, but I could hardly understand a word spoken in this movie. I certainly couldn't understand Garbo, but not really the others either. If I hadn't read some commentaries as I was watching, I would not have picked up on Anna Christie's past and the fact that she was trying to hide it. I'm not sure I would have even understood her first line if I didn't know it by heart already since it's a part of film history. Disappointing for me.
