Lillian Roth - the hottest ?
I think Lillian Roth was the hottest actress in all the Marx movies - (Yes, including "Love Happy") - what does anyone else think?

Thelma Todd gets my vote for her work, and costumes, in Horse Feathers. Having said that Lillian is the runner up.

June MacCloy (Lulubelle in Go West) is another of my nominations for a hottie that appeared in the Marx Brothers movies.
Anyone who can inspire the line "Ah Lulubelle - I didn't recognise you standing up" has to at least get nominated. What makes that line even funnier is the fact that it got past the Hays Commission.
After it is all said and done, I agree that Lillian is the hottest of the Marx leading ladies. Her attitude was cute, too! Boy, I wish I, like the Dean in Horse Feathers, was "waxing Roth". Okay, bad pun and a different movie, but Thelma Todd is a CLOSE second.

Ah yes, Thelma Todd. Both beautiful and a great comedienne.I like your "waxing roth", made me smile. Todd died the year she made "Horse Feathers" and Roth became a famous alcoholic (the first star to break her anonymity in A.A.). That's what appearing with the Marx Brothers does for you.
shareRoth is very pretty and appealing, but if I had to choose one I'd say Thelma Todd definitely. Small correction though, Tonyed- Thelma died a full three years after "Horse Feathers".

Read up on her and you'll get the scoop on the likelihood of her murder. And I even ran across autopsy pictures of her, and a photo taken of her dead at the wheel of the car she was found in. Sad, but she shines on in the films... Drew Barrymore could play her today.
