You're all *beep* retards. You can use words like "Hollywood Narrative" to justify hating Freddy got Fingered, but in all honesty--GREEN WAS DOING THE SAME THING DALI DID. A film made for the sole purpose of offending people. (Believe it or not...BOTH PEOPLE ARE NOT TRADITIONAL ARTISTS ZOMG)
Except, Green's film is 80 years newer and it doesn't have "art" stamped on it's title. It's also not viewed in film school, since it hasn't "aged with time".

Anyways, I could post a dissertation on the hypocrisies of art fags, but I'll just leave you with this. YOU ARE ALL PRETENTIOUS IDIOTS WHO LIKE A KITSCHY TURD THAT HAS SINCE BEEN DONE, MUCH BETTER TOO.

I never said I hated Freddy Got Fingered. You'll have to find someone else to misquote in your highly anticipated upcoming thesis.

I'd say fundamentally Green also made a movie to make money. Dali might have wanted to offend, or he might have wanted to do a filmic experiment. Did you ask him? Did you ask Green? You might have to open a book for Dali but Green might take a call from such a devoted fan.

And just because something has "since been done" doesn't discount the fact that it'd been done before. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) is still watched by many people, even though it's "since been done" in 2003 and 2006. Even before 1974, Texas Chainsaw Massacre is closely related to Bluebeard fairy tales.

Besides-- "since been done?" Then doesn't that make Freddy a "ripoff" of Un Chien just like surrealism is just a "ripoff" of Dadaism?

Film schools also watch recent movies. If they didn't, none of them would make any money after they graduated. Old films don't have merit simply because they are old, and they don't lose merit simply because they've "been done since." There are bad, old movies and there are bad, recent movies. There are also good old movies and good new movies.

I may be mistaken...but are you saying that Un Chien Andalou is a rip-off of Freddy Got Fingered, yet Un Chien Andalou came about 75 years before Freddy Got Fingered.
