this...film...is ...very ...slow...

I guess that was a thing with early talkies. George Bancroft especially takes forever to get out a line. Films from just a couple of years later would be far better paced. Feels like this entire film could fit into a half hour if done at a proper speed. Can't say the leads make that much of an impression, lines sound awkward and there's plenty of silence during scenes. Some lines are said over live music in the club scenes or in the prison and are hard to make out.
