Problems with the Kino DVD

I have the Kino version of Diary of a Lost Girl which is the one that was remastered by the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Foundation. It is a beautifully restored version. However, I have one problem with it and that is I could only play it once on my 1998 DVD player. Worked fine but on subsequent tries, the "Cannot play this disc" message pops up.

Now if I want to see it again, I have to watch it on my PC or laptop.

Has anyone else had this problem?

This may mean your newer dvd player isn't multi region. Usually if you enter the dvdplayer's code into google and type 'hack' you should be able to make your player multi region.

Thanks for the info but I think that I just had a bad disc. I couldn't return it to the vendor b/c I waited too long so I bought another copy which has worked just fine. I've watched Diary several times without any problems. Still, every time I insert it, I hold my breath until the copyright warning flashes onto the screen.

My DVD player is a Region 1 type. When I replace it, I am going to be sure to buy a multi-region one.

The bad disc might work on a different player.

I bought the Blu Ray version recently but haven't played it yet. Hopefully, there will be no problem.
