'Turn On The Heat' [Eskimo Dance]

Is this the only time "Turn On The Heat" was used in a movie ?

It seems like I remember it being featured in some Buster Keaton movie and was part of a movie within a movie. It was a big musical #. I think the guy directing the picture had been mistaken for the real director or something like that.

At any rate, the number included cannibals and cast iron pots and the girls all wore grass anklets and necklaces of bones. At the end of the number one of the chorus girls goosed the director.

It was the same song but it's been so many years since I saw it and the # in "Sunnyside Up" did look familiar though I couldn't remember the movie. Just as outrageous as I remembered though.

Any ideas?

I thought the effects were quite impressive for 1929, with the snow melting and such.

I would not be surprised if the song was in a different movie, it seemed familiar to me as well.

Thanks for the response. I went onto You Tube and it appears the song itself was recorded by at least three different bands, one of them Horace Heidt. [Not that I am an expert on Heidt. The only reason I knew the name was from the Horace Heidt Estates on Magnolia Blvd in Sherman Oaks].

Anyway I think it has been used in other films too. I remembered the title [ or rather the phrase ["Turn On The Heat"].

From the movie that I remember after the number was finished and the director was making a speech to the crew one of the chorus girls came up from behind and goosed the guy. Basically background, long shot,a throwaway bit, but it stood out.

Oh well: thanks for letting me know I'm not quite crazy in my memory....
