A great funny movie!

Buster Keaton is great as always and He and Dorothy Sebastian were magnificient in the scene where she is drunk and he puts her to bed. Great acting. It is a shame it couldn't have been a talkie like he wanted but it was still great. Definitely worth watching when you get a chance. TCM shows it every once in a while.

I was surprised by the overall quality. It wasn't as good as anything Buster did pre-MGM, but they'd not managed to totally hamstring him yet. I got very caught up in it.

I didn't like Spite Marriage. But it wasn't anywhere near as bad as Free and Easy. That one was terrible.

I like it, too. Dorothy Sebastian was amazing; she gets knocked around almost as much as Buster.

I actually liked this film very much! Before watching I knew it's made with MGM and expected something not so good, since I read everywhere that MGM ruined Keaton... But it had many great gags and stunts, Dorothy Sebastian was great (her jealousy faces at the restaurant!) and Keaton's acting was a pleasure to watch as always. I laughed very much at his "hate expression" he made every time he saw the villain character in the theatre play, I just didn't expect that from him :)

I saw "Spite Marriage" last night and really liked it. Someone mentioned that Ms. Sebastian did almost as much physical comedy as Mr. Keaton, and it's true. It's a great pairing both professionally, and as I understand it, personally too. The film's lot of fun; too bad Mr. Keaton's career went aground at MGM, and that Ms. Sebastian's did not fare well once past her MGM era.
