Beware if you are buying this Warner Archive product. Numerous purchasers are reporting that they are receiving a copy with an hour missing. The defective copy has roughly the first 55 minutes of the film then skips straight to the finale. They call WB who promptly sends a replacement, and it often turns out to be ANOTHER 64 minute long copy of the film! Bad copy/good copy ratios are running roughly 50/50. When reviewers go to the Warner website to review their bad experience, these experiences are not published. All you see is a glowing 4 star review from someone who obviously got a good copy the first time.

I just thought I'd warn folks here since there is really no other place to do it. Why won't Warner Bros. just scrap the bad copies they have and start over? Oh, that's right, profit now trumps customer satisfaction any day of the week over at WHV! RIP WHV high standards of DVD excellence, roughly 2002-2008.

I haven't bought the DVD but thanks for passing that information on - I've always been a little leery of the Archive series (although I own a few with no problems) because of things like this since they are probably selling small amounts they aren't watching out for things like that as closely as they should. Maybe you ought to mention this on the classic film board to warn other prospective buyers.
