Grapevine video--which version?

Is the awful 16mm. transfer by Grapevine--I think the only one available on video--from the Gosfilmofond copy or the patched-up German version or yet another version?

Better things will be coming in the next year or so. Nothing currently available is worth wasting money on -- except a very expensive DVD book package from the UK.

Another restored version is due out later this year -- from Germany (not sure if this will have English subs).

Thanks. Now if we could only get a few more like "Fragment of an Empire", "The Ghost that Never Returns", "The Great Citizen" and probably most sought after "The House on Trubnaya".
