TCM?

Anyone know if TCM ever shows this movie?
i'm having trouble getting my hands on a copy.

I don't know about TCM. I saw it on AMC once when they were running a series promoting film restoration.

I don't know if imdb will let me post a link, but I found a copy of this movie to buy here http://www.maceddy.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=162:90aa4634190ce55f668e004cd4ea3166

They charge $30. I just ordered one so when I get it I'll post again to let you know how good the quality is.

In case the link doesn't go through, I find out via a google search for: "the love parade" movie

It was on the first page of search results.

You can actually purchase The Love Parade [1929] as apart of the Criterion Collection Eclipse Series, titled Lubitsch Musicals and feature not only The Love Parade but Monte Carlo [1930], One Hour With You [1932] and The Smiling Lieutenant [1931] - all wonderfully witty films and good enough to be watched over and over. These films are an important development of the musical as a powerhouse cinematic genre and are more than historical curiosities.

I borrowed this 4 film collection from the library. 4 great films with information on Lubitsch and for each film, written on the DVD jacket.

It's fantastic.

I watched the Netflix DVD and it was so much fun to watch a young Maurice Chevalier. His smile and accent are so happy, and the supporting cast is quite entertaining. Together they make up for not much in the way of a plot.

Why ain't you at the garden party you heathen?
