One of Stan and Ollie's All-Time-Best!

I first saw this masterpiece in a repertory theatre in Dallas, Texas in 1984. It was among five other Laurel & Hardy silents, featuring live musical accompaniment, and the audience roared through all six wonderful shorts. I enjoyed the whole program, but "Liberty" did, and still does, stand out. Perhaps it was watching the boys on a big, wide screen, excellently photographed by future director George Stevens, as they clung desperately to that network of girders ten floors over Culver City, California. Even though I knew it was a mock-up contructed atop an existing building, I can remember the sweat beading on my palms as I watched...and laughed.

I have it on video now, and it never gets old to me. It's a great piece of work by a great comic duo. Anyone else agree?

Well, it´s been almost a year now and you will probably never read this... BUT, you´re absolutely right. One of their best (together with musicbox). I have seen this one at least 20 times but it´s still roaringly funny!
