Thanks for the head's up!

I recorded it and just looked at it last night. It was a delightful movie. Norma Shearer was wonderful and I thought Basil Rathbone was equally good in a romantic role. I had never seen him as a romantic lead before - always the heavy or Sherlock Holmes.

glad to see tcm also shows THIS 1929 version.. i keep catching the 1937 version.

fun connection - basil rathbone was in THIS 1929 version, and his sherlock holmes sidekick watson (nigel bruce) was in the 1937 version.

I've heard of the 1937 version but never seen it. I will have to keep my eye out for it. Thanks for the tip about Nigel Bruce being in it.
