'We can't go on meeting like this'

The first line of this Garbo classic is "Irene - We can't go on meeting like this." I must have heard that phrase thousands of times in my lifetime, usually as a joke. It's interesting to see where it originated in popular culture. That was 78 years ago!

I must admit that sometimes when I watch older movies I think...."Oh not this same old plot again". Then I realize the movie I'm watching may be the movie everyone got that "same old plot" from

I was a little disappointed by the beginning of this movie though. I didn't understand the comic beginning (tour guide with tourists). Knowing nothing about this movie, I thought it was going to be a comedy....took a while to realize it wasn't going to be.

I also thought the art in the art gallery could have been used to further illustrate what the characters were thinking. (at this point I was still thinking it was a comedy though) On the other hand ignoring it could have been used to illustrate they were oblivious to their surroundings.....(????)

Yes, I think they were oblivious to everything but each other. "I only have eyes for you." LOL
