Seriously - KAY FRANCIS: NOOOOOOOO T!TS????!!!!

I can never get over this movie: it shows a budding Kay Francis as the "vamp" - yet she/Kaye/villain sports the FLATTEST CHEST EVER filmed in Hollywood.

I know the "20s look" was "boyish" - and subsequent movies of the time reflected popular taste/culture, so a "flat" chest in 1929 was considered highly "stylish."

I just amazes me that T!T$ apparently didn't matter then - although they eventually gained a lot more "respect" in the ensuing decades.

Kay was a FANTASTIC ACTRESS - but I can only surmise that her career ending at the end of the 1930s was due to the fact that other actresses had more T!TS.

"Don't call me 'mac'... HONEY!"

Ironic that. She died of breast cancer. Anyway, the decline of Kay's film career did partly have to do with her looks, but not the way you think; it was because she was considered sexy and beautiful. She was way ahead of her time. If you want to know what really happened to Kay, read this.

You've got me?! Who's got you?!

reply

Sexy and beautiful?! Forget it! She looks like she should have been tied to a post in a cornfield!

Different eras have different standards of beauty.

Miss Jean Louise? Miss Jean Louise, stand up. Your father's passing.

Ok, besides the offensive middle school boy timber of your post...

Women who did have breasts of any size minimized them by taping themselves flat (think a girdle for the chest). Many of these women found decades later that this had caused tissue damage resulting in much more than normal 'drooping'.

Pennywise and poundfoolish.

I assume you mean "timbre." Timber is what lumberjacks yell when a tree is about to fall.

All the universe or nothingness. Which shall it be, Passworthy? Which shall it be?

reply

Idiot!
Kay's career faltered when newcomer Bette Davis arrived and eventually surpassed Kay as Warners' top female star.
