Eureka has just annouced that they will be releasing Marcel L'Herbier's L'Argent [Money] as a 80th Anniversary Special Edition (1928-2008) part of their Masters of Cinema collection.

This is fantastic news as L'Argent is of the true great masterpieces of the silent era and largely overlooked.

Just got my copy, and watched in in one sitting.

I wasn't disappointed, enjoyed the film, the transfer, and the excellent piano accompaniment.

Just wish they'll release L'Herbier's other silent films!!

Is this the original cut? Why did they say it was the cut L'Herbier "fought for". It was not 195 min.

My husband really liked this. His exact words were: "It was visually striking and alarmingly relevant".
