Lillian Gish's real hair?

If so, pretty impressive. Btw, love the film.

I don't think she ever cut her hair.

It was real. Her hair was her trademark for many years. The old studios didn't spend much on promoting their stars in the early days of silent films so anything that helped an actor stand out from the crowd was maintained and featured if they became popular.

I would love to know how long it was when she died, considering that she continued to wear it up throughout her career. I wish there was an Ann Harding movie in which she "let down her hair". I have still photos but it isn't the same.
Yes, a bit of a long hair fetish. My fiancée's hair is 40" long and counting and I had a similar reaction to Lige's the first time I saw it unbound. But I restrained myself, as she was not my wife.
