Into the wind

This is probably a very stupid question, but in the sequence where Buster is running against the wind (airplane propellers?) and is standing at a crazy 90 degree angle, could he do that (I wouldn't put much past his capabilities), or did he have wires holding him up?

After watching it earlier, I also wondered about the 45 degree angle stance. I assume that he must have been held by something, but it would certainly be astounding if he wasn't.

"Why do you find it so hard to believe?"
"Why do you find it so easy?"
"It's never BEEN easy!"

Isn't "the lean" done with weighted or attached shoes? Michael Jackson in his act had some kind of misdirection at the point where they'd attach his shoes to the stage.

There may have been something in addition to the wind machines - basically airplane engines with propellers. The wind machine(s) were located just out of sight on a street, which is why all those boxes flew off the truck at the right time.
