About the riot

What I do know about the documents on the trial is that many of the events did not really occur all in one day (as they are in the movie), but were spread out over several days to several weeks (I think). I was just wondering what anyone thought concerning the riot(if you could call it that): did it actually occur immediately after Joan's execution or did it not begin until at least a day or several days after? And for anyone who's read about the trial in detail, do the documents give any kind of information of how many people died during the rioting? These are just a few questions of interest I had on my mind for awhile.

From what I know, there was no riot at all. That entire final scene was fabricated for reasons I can't decipher. Perhaps because the film was intended for French nationalism/pride, that it would look better if the French didn't take the killing of their hero 'sitting down.' But, in reality, it looks like they actually did.
