I was SO sick of......

that sappy-azz song that they played over and over and over and over and over. "I love you now and I loved you then....". Puke!!!

I think the song fit the scenes that were being shown while it was played so I was fine with it.

I also don't recall too many songs that are sung during a silent movie. I haven't seen too many silent movies but usually they play songs without lyrics and all the info is given via the actors and the dialogue cards. The song was a nice touch.

I also had never heard actual dialogue, which popped up every now and then, in a silent movie. Even sound effects, I thought were rare. I'm still getting an education on that particular genre of film and am really enjoying it.

I loved this movie for all the reasons I just mentioned and because the story was interesting. Great movie!

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]

This was made very late in the silent period, with its own integrated music score, sound effects, and very limited dialogue, as well as numerous title cards conveying almost all of the speech seen on screen, much like a subtitled foreign film today. It was an interesting transitional step in the quick change from silent to sound movies.
