Terrific movie!

This movie, although it's silent, doesn't ever actually feel like it is. Between the superb Vivek Maddala score, that suits the film flawlessly and gives it a musical "voice," strong performances by the entire cast, consistently strong, often striking, visuals, and an engrossing story, that moves along briskly and never bores (never did me, anyways), I don't at all notice, or miss, the lack of spoken (audio-wise) dialogue when watching this. The Maddala score and the "spoken" words appearing on the intertitles 100% does the trick, providing all the sound and "voices" this terrific movies needs. Furthermore, although "The Mysterious Lady" is from 1928, it manages to look and seem surprisingly fresh and modern, holding up remarkably well to present-day viewing. I'm a fan!

It's by far one of my most favorites among her silents. She was stunning and magnetic, and Conrad Nagel was a great leading man, IMHO. Very handsome and charming. The music score on the DVD is beautiful and truly romantic.
